ويكون طرفاه غير حقيقتين أي مجازيّين.
ومثاله قوله تعالى: أَوَمَنْ كانَ مَيْتاً فَأَحْيَيْناهُ الأنعام: 122.
فقد فسّر المفسّرون هذه الآية بقولهم: كان ضالا فهديناه.
وعلى المعنى المقصود يكون الطباق مجازيا. ولو أخذ اللفظان على الحقيقة لبقي الطباق قائما بين ميتا (اسم) وأحييناه (فعل).
وقد سماه قدامة بن جعفر (التكافؤ) وأعطى مثلا عليه قول الشاعر (الطويل).
إذا نحن سرنا بين شرق ومغرب … تحرّك يقظان التراب ونائمه
فالمطابقة بين «اليقظان والنائم» ونسبتهما إلى التراب على سبيل المجاز لا الحقيقة. ولو نظرنا إليه على سبيل الحقيقة ما امتنع الطباق بين (يقظان) و (نائم) و (شرق) و (مغرب).
