تقع ولاية الجزيرة في وسط البلاد وتحدها من الشمال

ولاية الخرطوم ومن الجنوب ولاية سنار وشرقا ولاية القضارف
ومن الغرب ولاية النيل الأبيض.


المساحة: 25.549.2 كلم متر مربع.

السكان: 3.796.000 نسمة.

أهم المحاصيل: القطن، الذرة و القمح.

الثروة الحيوانية: تبلغ عدد ا 6037000 رأس من الماشية.

بالولاية عدد 1732 مدرسة أساس 437 مدرسة ثانوية.

أهم المدن:الحيصاحيصا، رفاعة، الكاملين ، المناقل ، جياد و ودمدني حاضرة الولاية.
