فيثاغورسيضمّ علم الرّياضيات الكثير من النظريات وأهمها نظرية فيثاغورس التي تعتبر القاعدة الأولى لانطلاق النظريات الأخرى ، وسُميّت بذلك نسبة إلى العالم اليوناني الإغريقي فيثاغورس ساموس الذي ولد عام خمسمئة وثمانين قبل الميلاد ، حيث ساهمت نظريات هذا العالم بتطور علوم الهندسة المختلفة .
